Position Summary:

The Director/Vice President, Business Development and Sales, will be responsible and accountable for New Orders and Revenue Recognition of the Mevion Medical Systems Inc. portfolio of products throughout the assigned geographic area to meet company budgets and targets as it relates to sales volume, market penetration, customer retention, product mix, profitability and average selling price. Provide related reporting ensuring corporate goals are achieved and utilization of the Mevion Medical Systems Inc. sales methodology.


Essential Functions:

1. Develops a targeted account list, sales, backlog and other forecasts to actively promote, present and demonstrate Mevion products to customers and potential customers.

2. Coordinates orders with the company’s order management, accounting marketing and contracts administration personnel.

3. Reviews sales forecasts with Sales Management and, where appropriate revise.

4. Achieves unit sales of the products set forth in the sales quota, targets or forecasts.

5. Adheres to the Mevion Medical Systems Inc. Sales Methodology

6. Calls on/establishes relationships with resource referrals (hospitals, clinics, physicians, etc.).

7. Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and potential customers.

8. Ensure a high level of commercial, clinical, and technical skills and knowledge is maintained on all products within the Mevion Medical Systems Inc. portfolio.

9. Assist in the preparation and distribution of competitive sales and product arguments to the rest of the territory team.

10. Provide technical support regarding Tenders, RFP;s, Bid responses, trade shows, exhibits and seminars as applicable.

11. Maintain on continued basis a high-level of product knowledge and pricing and contracting policies and procedures.

12. Travel, as required, maintaining good relationships with Mevion Medical Systems Inc. customers.

13. Ensure compliance with company procedures relating to the handling of complaints and complaint files.

14. Provide onsite and offsite product/sales presentations, assist in product sales training.

15. Responsive to the business and sales/customer support needs.

16. Perform related duties as assigned or requested.


Education, Training, and Experience:

1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

2. Minimum 5 years direct related experience in Radiation Oncology Sales.

3. Team player on both departmental and management team levels.

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present high level presentations.


Physical and Environmental Considerations:

1. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

2. Required use of standard office equipment including laptop, phone, copier, etc.

3. Typical office environment.

4. Open for travel.
